Fan Fiction
These are the current Fan Fiction series I am dabbling in:
FANDOM WORKS
There are many fan fiction and fan art websites out there. Some are themed, some are multi-fandom, some only focus on fan fiction or fan art, and there are a few out there that focus on both. Being a member of many of these sites, I found myself wondering about different things that would give that particular site more appealing to. I often said to myself: “Wouldn’t it be so cool if this site could have a Fan Art gallery”, or “It would be cool if this site had a chat room, or….”, well you get the picture. So I began to think. Maybe I can create site that has something for everyone, a site that doesn’t just gear itself to one specific fandom, or just specializes in fan art. I also wanted to create something from the ground up, something that was specifically built for the site itself and not have just have a template and add components that may or may not do what I wanted them to do.
Once the idea was born, I quickly realized that this project was something that I wasn’t going to be able to build on my own. I was going to need all the help I could find… and that’s how
fandomproject was born.
So what does that have to do with you? Good question
I am looking for some volunteers who are willing to take the time to build this site with me. I can’t do it all on my own folks. As I said before, I am building this from the ground up, so most of the components aren’t even there yet. I do have a developer who is working on building the site, and while thats all good and dandy, I still have to design it, and breathe life into it, and that’s not something I will be able to accomplish all on my own.
So now that I have planted that seed, I bet your wondering, ‘That’s all well and good, but how can I help?’ Here’s a small list of some of the things that you will be able to help with:
- Set up the organization of the website
Handle the website design
Handle content implementation
Moderate stories/artwork to keep up with the site rules and guidelines.
Answer any FAQ’s or offer technical support to site users (although for technical support questions it will really depend on your comfort level with the technical side of the site.)
Deal with questions of content and abuse, creates guidelines for acceptable and non-acceptable materials.
Help moderate the site forum.
Help moderate the site chat community.
As of right now, what I am looking for is 5-10 people to help moderate this lj comm with me as well as the future site. Later, once everything is ironed out, there will be more options of co-moderators, site volunteers, etc. But as always, first things first.
Please keep in mind that this is a big project and you’ll need to let me know if you will be able to help out on a long term/short term/part time/full time basis.
If you are interested, please contact me at fandomworks[at]gmail.com with the following:
-Name
-Age
-Email
-Are you in it for the long run? Short run? How much time can you dedicate to this? etc.
-Are you interested in moderating the lj comm only, the site only or both?
-What time zone are you in? (I ask this question because there will be some chat discussions… if you are wondering, I’m on the West Coast PST)
-What is your area of interest? (i.e, design, technical, forums, FQA, site content, Chat comm, etc.)
I’d like to thank you in advance for all your help! Look forward to hearing form you
Jessie Angel
